About the Work

My painting process is very intuitive. The theme of each work expresses a current theme in my life at the time of creation. In 2021 I began experimenting with liquid mediums and pour painting, which lead to the Surrender Series. This was at a time in my life where all I could do was surrender to what was happening and hope for the best. When I poured a shape onto the canvas and the paint moved in unexpected ways, I felt a sense of validation. The paint and I were both deep in a state of surrender.

I also love working in mixed media—namely fabric and paper collage with acrylic paints, water-based spray paint, and chalk pastel. The Mantra Series reflects this love of mixed media and expresses some of my life mottos.

My art is deeply inspired by emotion, music, color, and materials. Each piece begins with a spark of inspiration and then incorporates all of these inspirations into the work.
